Big revelation. SHE DOESNT!
So, let me tell you the story.
On August 28th I was leaving LaLaLuxe Salon in Providence after getting my hair done, and on my way to another appointment. All of a sudden I went flying, falling down hard on the sidewalk. A little dazed, I wasn’t ready to get up. A couple of young guys came by and asked if I was ok or could they help but I said no. A woman saw me on the ground from her car and pulled over and came out to help me. She sat down on the ground with me and asked me if I was ok, could she call someone, and said she wasn’t going to leave me until I was able to get to my car. She ran to the store to get me a water, it was 96 out, extremely hot. She said her name was Sunny. As soon as I was able to get up she did walk me to my car, where I gave her my business card and asked her to get in touch with me. I never heard from her but I want her to know that I really appreciate her caring and help. Thank you, Sunny.
And, as everyone has kiddingly asked…were you drinking? NO!
I had pain in my hand, cuts on my arms, knees and had also whacked my face on the sidewalk.
Pretty shaken I drove to my next appointment which was at a chiropractor. He looked at my hand and thought it was bruised bone and told me to see what happens in the next day or two.
Next day my hand was blown up and swollen. So, I went to a walk in clinic and got examined and X-rays. And sure enough I had two broken fingers. They gave me a brace and I was told I needed to go to a hand specialist.
Made the appointment and went two days later. I was told my hand needed to be in a cast and totally immobilized. So, that’s what happened. Cast on for a month. So, unless someone wanted a deep exfoliation with a fiberglass cast I couldn’t do any facials, waxing or any work for at least 2 months per my doctor. I tried to get a student Esthetician to work for me (as a Licensed Esthetic Educator in Rhode Island I can oversee them in my business) but that didn’t work out as well as trying to get a seasoned one. So, I’m 6-7 weeks in and am planning to get back to work by the last week of October.
So, unfortunately an Esthetician cannot do any work with broken fingers.
It’s going to be great to be back at work!
