Besides facials and skin treatments we know that we have to use the right products for our skin at home. I love Serums! I use two in the morning and one at night. And of course a moisturizer, sunscreen and eye cream. Out of anything you can buy for your skin in the skincare world of products such as cleansers, moisturizers, or toners, I know that the biggest bang for your buck is a professional grade serum.
Why? Because they really do work. Serums contain higher quality ingredients as well as the highest amount of active ingredients than any other products in the skin care category. They don’t have fillers like a moisturizing cream has. They are also higher priced but – you are going to get a higher concentration of very effective ingredients. Cleansers and moisturizer usually have a 5-10% concentration of actives where your serum will have up to a 70% concentration. Plus, you don’t need to use much of a serum, ususally a couple of drops. They are so concentrated, a little goes a long way.
Ingredients in serums can target certain skin conditions. They can contain vitamins, peptides, antioxidants, stem cells, lightening agents and more. And can usually treat firmness, tone, pigmentation, acne, hydration, brown spots (pigmentation) rosacea, redness, brighten and reduce wrinkles and lines. And, serums are good for oily skin as they don’t contain oils like moisturizers have as ingredients.
The molecular structure of a serum is smaller than creams or gels and penetrate the skin faster and deeper than a moisturizer can.
At Afterglow I incorporate serums in my facials and facial treatments. I use serums from Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare, Glymed Plus, Victoria DeAnn Peptides, and Glowbiotics MD.
