*Have facials or treatments regularly. Your skin will just get better and better.
*Dont pick blemishes and pimples. Keep your hands away from your face. I know its hard to resist but picking can lead to even bigger problems – inflammation, spreading and scarring.
*Dont take vacations from their skincare regimen. Even in the summer. Yes, It’s summer, everyone is outside more, people go on vacation, but don’t take a vacation from your skin treatments! This could set you back from your skincare goals and we’ll have to start all over again!
*Wear sunscreen. You all know about the importance of sunscreen, but you need to wear it daily…yes, even in the winter.
*Are interested and ask questions. It shows me you really want to be involved and see changes in your skin.
*Use the products I recommend. Use the homecare products because it backs up everything I do in the treatment room to achieve the improvements and goals you and I have for your skin. I love seeing the changes in your skin!
*Bring their daughters in for waxing and skincare. Very often mothers will think that their daughters are too young for waxing. But when they start to pluck them on their own or shave them, (shave their eyebrows?) Yes, I’ve seen many take disposable razors to their eyebrows and upper lip. It’s time to start them out with waxing. Get their eyebrows done from an Esthetician the right way from the beginning. Not overdone and appropriate for their age. And skincare? It’s great to start them out with a teen facial that teaches them how to take care of their skin at a young age.
*Don’t over exfoliate, and use the right exfoliating products. Manual exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells and promotes product penetration. Over exfoliation can cause drying, redness, inflammation and damage to skin. The wrong exfoliant can also cause micro tearing, inflammation and damage to skin. Many over the counter products such as St Ives apricot scrub are not gentle enough.
*Don’t try everything they see on Amazon and Pinterest. I know some friends who buy Glycolic and other peels and use them on themselves weekly. First of all, don’t buy something you know nothing about! Secondly, you can cause some serious damage to your skin. There are different grades of peels, strengths and ph. And, who said you need one? And, Pinterest.. There are many “natural solutions” to skin care problems there. Some are downright frightening. Lemons on your face? Coffee ground hair removal? Leave the the skincare to the experts!
*Don’t but skincare products on Amazon or EBay. I buy my products direct from the manufacturer. They leave their facility and come straight to my door. It’s fresh and authentic. Your Esthetician’s expertise is in analyzing, treating your skin, whether it be facials or other treatments, and determining the best products to achieve the best results for your skin. She takes all the time to do this so why not honor her by buying from her…a small business instead of some internet stranger?
*Recommend her to others. There is nothing like a client being happy with your services and talking about it!❤️
