I’m always on the lookout for the newest and most effective products I can find for my clients and myself of course! Here are some ingredients in products I love to use when doing facials, or recommend for home care.
Hyaluronic Acid
Don’t let the name scare you, its not what you think! Hyaluronic Acid or Hyaluronan is a major component of skin, having many functions such as holding in moisture, cushioning, holds together collagen and elastin, and aids in tissue repair. Loss of Hyaluronic Acid is one of the major causes of skin wrinkling. Our skin starts a depletion of Hyaluronic Acid around the age of 18 but it doesn’t show up as wrinkling until our 40’s or 50’s. The benefits of Hyaluronic Acid in skin care products is that it forms a protective barrier that locks and boosts hydration and elasticity of the skin, giving it a more youthful appearance. It also protects against ultraviolet light which can cause pigmentation, and it can adjust its moisturizing effect on the skin depending on climate or humidity.
Supplamine
Newer on the skin care scene, Supplamine is clinically proven to block toxic sugar in skin. It inhibits skin aging by reversing inflammation, glycation and oxidative stress. Never heard of glycation? Glycation is a leading cause of aging, causing a tangling of proteins and sugar molecules making it tough and not flexible, causing dryness and roughness and wrinkling of skin. in addition to blocking toxic sugar, Supplamine prevents loss of elasticity, removes appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, dryness, redness dark circles and puffiness.
Ascorbic Acid
Ascorbic Acid or L Ascorbic Acid. Whats that? Vitamin C! Ascorbic Acid is high on the list for production of Collagen, which is a protein that helps growth of cells and blood vessels which give skin strength and firmness. Vitamin C helps in skin repair, boosts Collagen, slows down free radicals, and brightens skin.
Copper Peptides or Tripeptides
Copper exists naturally in our tissues. Copper is also anti-inflammatory, and we know know more about inflammation being a contributor to aging. Copper peptides help to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, tightening and thickening skin by increasing Elastin and Collagen. it improves texture, and glow to the complexion.
So, more of these awesome ingredients to come in a future blog. In the meantime, I know where you can get some products containing some of these Beautiful Aging beauties! Wonder where? 🙂
